Liala and Melina have been travelling the planet for decades in an effort to expand life experiences, make acquaintances and connections across oceans and continents, and gain increased awareness of the spectacular beauty and spirit Mother Earth has to offer. They plan itineraries with enthusiasm and spirit, and guarantee their guests individualized care and attention resulting in optimum travel experiences for everyone. Combined, Liala and Melina have visited many inspiring sites in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Down Under. Filled with a desire to understand the world about them and promote healing and peace, they united their experience and energy to start Metatron Travel in 2008 when both retired from lifetime careers as educators.

Each year, Metatron offers thoughtfully-planned, guided excursions to well-known sites with little-known hidden treasures. In addition to the oft-visited majestic Red Rock sites of Sedona, Arizona, the Metatron group experienced the cool, flowing, healing waters of Montezuma’s Well with sound healer, Ani Williams; outside Paris, the underground well at Chartres Cathedral offered space for enchanting music & silent reflection of the Divine Feminine; and in Southwest England, the group journeyed by foot into St. Nectin’s Glen to experience “orbs” and stone cairns in and around a gloriously showering waterfall.

Metatron Travel co-founder, Melina Carnicelli, retired from political office as mayor of the City of Auburn, NY in 2004 to return to her career in public education as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources in the Ithaca, NY school district. Upon retiring from that administrative post in 2008, she joined with long-time friend & travel partner, Liala Strotman, to create a travel company catering to intimate (small) groups of adventurers who desire personalized service and unique itineraries to sacred sites. Melina says, “I have had wanderlust my whole life. As a young girl I dreamed of visiting the Greco-Roman antiquities, and at age 10 upon seeing the architecture of the government buildings in Washington, DC, I knew Greece would be where I would first set foot outside North America.” In 1981, she lived her vision via her first European vacation…Greece and Italy. Since then, Melina has traveled extensively throughout the US & Europe with a lifetime highlight trip to Russia when it was still under Soviet rule. On a recent trip to Eastern Europe, Melina was reminded of her previous Soviet visit with a stop in Bratislava, Slovakia on route to Vienna.

Metatron Travel co-founder, Liala Strotman, retired in 2008 after 38 years in education as a classroom teacher, gifted and talented coordinator, and principal. While loving every minute of her career, the call for more travel made her transition to retirement easier. Her love of geography, history and culture came from the stories and souvenirs her father shared with her when he returned from trips around world as a merchant seaman. Liala has been blessed with logged time in nearly every continent on earth. Egypt, Turkey, China and islands large and small like Australia, England, Iceland, New Zealand, Cypress, Fuji and Hawaii are just some of her travel highlights. Lials’s first travel outside the US was a ski trip in 1970 to Quebec, and in summer 2010, Liala visited Edinburgh, Scotland, Vienna, Prague and Paris after guiding a travel group through southwest England. Liala says, “What I love most about group travel is what each person brings to the group making for a richer experience…some love the sunsets, some love the art, and some love the wine. I can then see the beauty of the trip through all those varied vantage points.”
